17 second movie haiku

create and share a mini masterpiece

What to do with your finished 17 second mini-movie

Once you are happy with your finished Kineku and decide it’s ready to share you should publish it first on your own YouTube or Vimeo page.

Once you have uploaded your mini-masterpiece, you can submit it for inclusion in the Kineku Movie Wall and on our YouTube channel playlists or Vimeo collection.

The only judgement of what makes a Kineku is it’s length – it must be 17 secs long. To meet our distribution specification your submission must also have a 3 second title added to its front.

Once it has been checked and verified as conforming to the Kineku length specification (3sec title + 17sec Kineku), a link will be created to include your work on the Kineku website Video Wall and will be added to respective YouTube and Vimeo playlists and collections.

It will then automatically be an official Kineku movie and you will receive a Kineku Movie Certificate.

Remember. If it’s not precisely 17secs, it’s not a Kineku – it’s just a short movie.

Share every versio

There’s no limit to the number of Kineku you can share. Each variation on a theme, or each iteration of the same idea can be submitted as a new Kineku.

If you share the version of a Kineku on both YouTube and Vimeo, you will receive one certificate for the version of the kineku, but a link to both YouTube and Vimeo will posted on the Kineku website Video Wall.

Help create a Kineku community

When you submit your YouTube or Vimeo link for consideration as an official Kineku 17sec haiku movie, fill in the questionnaire and share your ‘behind the scenes’ stories and help build a community of Kinekumakers.

We’ll share your stories on our social media pages and in the Kineku newsletter, which you can sign up to using the button below.
