The Video Wall

You now have one source to view every authorised Kineku and it’s right here on the Kineku website – the Video Wall. Publish your mini-masterpiece on either YouTube or Vimeo hosting services and we’ll create a direct link to your work on the Video Wall.

We’ll also be maintaining our Kineku Playlists on YouTube and have established a Vimeo collection to show off every authorised Kineku on each video hosting service. As it evolves, we’ll add different sections to the Video Wall and will base this on your feedback, so please use the contacts button to send in your thoughts and comments on how well you think it works.

Use the link in the main menu to go straight to the Video Wall

Authorised playlist. It's official.

All Kineku authorised Kineku are added to the Video Wall from video hosting service that they are published on. At the moment we accept submissions from YouTube and Vimeo, but keep an eye on our social media posts for news of additional hosting services as they become available.

Anyone can submit their work for inclusion in the Kineku Video Wall. Videos must simply be copyright cleared and conform to the 17sec duration required of all Kineku (with the additional 3sec title).

Once certified a video will be added to the authorised Video Wall ‘New Releases’ section and added to the relevant playlist or collection on YouTube or Vimeo.

Your sources of inspiration

The Kineku social media pages give details of every new Kineku posted on the website as well as links and information on events such workshops and sceenings. You’ll also find information on how to create your own Kineku with hints and tips for beginners, ‘making of’ stories from Kinekumakers.

We don’t just want Kineku to be a showcase, we’d like it to be a community of Kinekumakers who can share their creative experiences and technical knowledge.

Whether you’re a beginner, or an experienced professional, we want to hear about the new piece of kit you’ve discovered, or the challenges you’ve had making your mini-masterpiece.

Hints, tips and instruction videos

Because Kineku is an open project for anyone to participate in, the Kineku project will host ‘how to’ videos and ‘hints and tips’ to help new Kinekumakers get started, or take your skills to the next level.

Send us links to videos you’ve found helpful in improving the way you shoot content and we’ll add them to our ‘how to’ playlists. Or, share your own hints and tips to inspire others. Send selfies or a ‘call-out’ from your filming location and help to build an engaged and inclusive community of makers.

You don’t need exotic resources to make Kineku, but because of all the glossy and expensive media that surrounds us, the process of getting started on anything creative can still feel a bit daunting.

The hints tips resources will aim to help you make those first steps and give you ideas to take your skills to the next level and help you answer the Kineku challenge – how to get my idea into 17 seconds?
