The Kinekulab Nairn took place on 5th September 2026 as part of the Nairn Book and Arts Festival in the north of Scotland, with the aim creating and sharing 17 second haiku videos. Movies created at that workshop will be published in Showreel on the Kineku YouTube Channel and on our website on Sunday 27th September at midday.
You still have an opportunity to have a movie included in the Showreel by submitting your own Kineku on the theme of:
Nairn Encounters
You don’t have to have been at the Kinekulab workshop. You don’t even need to have visited Nairn, but your video must feature the town.
Full entry details can be found on the Submit page, but, apart from featuring Nairn, a Kineku must be precisely 17 seconds long (inspired by the 17 syllables of a haiku poem) and have an additional mute 3 second title caption (making a submission movie 20 seconds in total).
Closing date
Saturday 26th September
Submissions will close at 6pm (BST) and all movies that meet the Kineku specification will be added to the Kinekulab Nairn Showreel which will go live at midday on Sunday 27th September
